Wta Monterrey Results

Public results — not a highlight reel

Four Elite calls, one clean miss. All graded.

Five first-round matches from Monterrey — four Elite positions and three $4.99 leans — graded here against what actually happened on court. Includes the pick that lost outright, and the modelling bias we caught and refused to trade before a ball was hit.

Elite Filter: 3–1 positions

Net units, 2.00u risked: +0.53u

$4.99 Tier leans: 1–2 informational

Elite Filter

3 W · 1 L · +0.53u

Four positions survived the full form, trend, fresh-collapse and opposition-quality review out of five matches on the card — the fifth, Osorio vs Li, was a dead-even PASS by both market and form and carried no position. All four Elite plays were set-handicap or games-handicap lines with a verified Pinnacle price edge before kickoff.

Parks vs MarcinkoR32 · 00:30 Monterrey local

Marcinko +1.5 sets

Odds1.357

Stake0.25u

Won 2–1 +0.09u

Reduced-confidence lean — Marcinko's L10 hard sample was a single match, badly understating a season built on clay/grass and dominant Challenger-level hard form. Parks was disqualified from any Elite lean by a fresh-collapse flag (a one-sided 6-2 6-2 loss last time out). Marcinko went the distance and covered comfortably.

Tjen vs YastremskaR32 · 00:30 Monterrey local

Tjen Games AH −4 games

Odds2.580

Stake0.50u

Tjen lost 1–2 −0.50u

The clean favourite of the round on paper: no flag, better recent hard sample, a fresh on-surface H2H win over Yastremska in February. Yastremska carried her own fresh-collapse flag off a one-sided Cincinnati loss — and won anyway. The flag describes an opponent's trend, not a guarantee for this specific match; the round's one genuine miss.

Tauson vs ZarazuaR32 · 03:30 Monterrey local

Zarazua +1.5 sets

Odds1.970

Stake0.50u

Won 2–1 +0.49u

The hometown underdog led the market favourite on raw form by roughly 21 points even after discounting for opposition quality (three of her recent hard wins came at ITF level). Tauson was fading on a 4-of-6 losing stretch against ranked opposition and a recurring retirement history. Zarazua didn't just cover — she won the match outright.

Parry vs VekicR32 · 05:00 Monterrey local

Parry +1.5 sets

Odds1.606

Stake0.75u

Won 2–1 +0.45u

The largest form/market split of the round — roughly a 28-point form gap toward the underdog, the biggest on the card. Vekic, the market favourite, had explicitly lost her last four matches, two on hard. Parry took a set and covered comfortably; the round's highest-conviction call and its biggest stake.

Form-backed favourite/near-favourite leans that never cleared an independent Pinnacle price edge — disclosed as directional reads, not staked positions. No P&L impact either way, but tracked with the same honesty as the staked board.

Osorio vs LiR32

Osorio ML

Lost 0–2

The one match on the card that was a genuine coin-flip by both market (51.3%) and form (a 2.2-point CFS gap) — flagged as the thinnest lean of the day going in, and it landed the other way. Exactly the kind of call that should carry no stake.

Parks vs MarcinkoR32

Marcinko ML

Won 2–1

Same read as the Elite Set HC position — form-favoured, thin-sample favourite. Landed alongside the staked pick.

Tjen vs YastremskaR32

Tjen ML

Lost 1–2

The moneyline mirror of the round's one miss — same match, same wrong direction.

Form is not the answer by itself. It is the first question.

These are not automatic picks.

Osorio vs Li

23:00 Monterrey local · R32

Osorio CFS~41.1

Li CFS~38.9

2.2-point gap — a wash by both form and market (51.3% devig). No flags either side. Every Pinnacle-verified market passed.

PASS — no Elite position Li won 2–0

Parks vs Marcinko

00:30 Monterrey local · R32

Parks — fresh collapse

Parks CFS~37.5

Marcinko CFS~25.6*

*Marcinko's number is a single-match sample artefact, not a real weakness — dominant on hard at Challenger level, excellent on clay/grass all season. Parks' flag blocked any lean in her favour outright.

KEEP — Marcinko +1.5 sets Marcinko won 2–1

Tjen vs Yastremska

00:30 Monterrey local · R32

Yastremska — fresh collapse

Tjen CFS~38.9

Yastremska CFS~28.0

~11-point gap plus a flag, both pointing at Tjen — the cleanest favourite case on the card. Lost anyway. The round's one genuine miss, and a reminder the flag describes a trend, not a guarantee.

KEEP — Tjen Games AH −4 Yastremska won 2–1

Tauson vs Zarazua

03:30 Monterrey local · R32

Tauson CFS~36.9

Zarazua CFS~58.2*

*Opposition-quality discounted (some ITF-level wins in the sample) — still the largest genuine underdog form lead on the card. Hometown player at her country's own WTA 500. Class-gap kept the pick to the set line, not the moneyline — she won outright anyway.

KEEP — Zarazua +1.5 sets Zarazua won 2–1

Parry vs Vekic

05:00 Monterrey local · R32

Parry CFS~54.9

Vekic CFS~27.2

~28-point gap, the round's largest — Vekic had explicitly lost her last four matches, two on hard, going in. No flag on either side; the cleanest, highest-conviction Elite read of the day.

KEEP — Parry +1.5 sets Parry took a set, lost 1–2

What we caught before kickoff

A systematic model bias, flagged and excluded

Every one of the five matches independently threw a large, suspiciously uniform technical edge on Total Over 2.5 sets and on in-3 Correct Score lines — anywhere from +11% to +31% EV, regardless of how lopsided the match projected. That uniformity across matches of very different shape is the signature of a modelling artefact: the games engine treats each set as an independent trial, which systematically overstates how often a match goes the distance. Both market families were excluded from every board — Elite and $4.99 alike — before a ball was hit.

Worth saying plainly, in the same spirit as the rest of this page: four of the five matches actually did go three sets. Had that flagged market been traded anyway, it would have cashed four times out of five this particular round. That doesn't make the exclusion wrong — the formula behind it is still mathematically miscalibrated, and trading a known-broken edge because it happened to pay off once is how a model drifts into worse habits, not better ones. It's exactly the kind of result we report here rather than quietly skip.
